Kings College 360 Project

We were very proud to be asked to film above on of Cambridge’s most iconic colleges and its chapel.

The project brief was to capture stunning 360 videos above the college and grounds from multiple angles to create a visually interactive experience for a conference being held for international delegates. We ended up capturing multiple formats and photographs as this permission was the first of its kind above the college. The planning phase was very challenging as we would be flying above the famous stained-glass windows of the Chapel itself.

One the day of filming we had a great team in place consisting of multiple spotters, two drone pilots and the clients on hand viewing live images as we filmed to make sure the brief was captured in full.

The end results were truly stunning and received well during the conference with great client feedback.

“We approached Cambridge Aerial Imaging as we were looking to do 360 degree drone filming at a Cambridge College as part of a talk we were delivering at our annual conference, centred on how virtual reality can be used in the classroom. From the outset Cambridge Aerial Imaging were a delight to work with. Simon and Duncan were responsible and responsive. They also understood the sensitivity around permissions and insurance involved with filming in such an iconic location and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Further, they were also flexible with dates and times and worked hard to accommodate us as the project progressed. The quality of the footage was excellent and they turned the editing around overnight to work with our tight time frame. To top it off, they offered very good value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend Cambridge Aerial Imaging to anyone looking for high quality drone footage and an excellent service – you could not go wrong with them!”
